Notes on Fisher Family Cemetery

Following information is not confirmed, but notes taken on this cemetery by Mrs. Karl (Eileen Rosebrook) Bastian of Dodge City, Kansas 1974


Located on farm owned in 1953 by Bobby Jones, and reported to be in Survey 995 in Dudley Twp., Hardin Co., Ohio, not far from the Hardin - Marion Co. line. In 1953 when my husband and I visited this cemetery, it was overgrown with trees, brambles and weeds, so thick that it was quite impossible to penetrate to the farthest small marker used to mark the various graves. These stones had only given names on them with no dates or other data.

  • Edwin
    • Whom we believe to be Edwin FISHER, b. 1814/15 in N. Y. (Death Cert.) died 15 May 1874 in Dudley Twp., Hardin Co., Ohio. He was an early Hardin Co., attorney, and Ohio State Representative 1839 - 40, and in late years retired to his farm and raised hunting dogs.
  • Rachel
    • Whom we believe to be Rachel (Banning) Fisher, wife of Edwin Fisher. She was born 27 Mar. 1822 in Knox Co., Ohio, daughter of Jacob and Sophia (Zimmerman) Banning. She died 1859, however this date has not been confirmed in anyway.
  • Emmitt
  • Edward
    • Sons of Bluer (Blick) and Idella (Robins) Fisher. They died of diptheria or typhoid fever within a day or two of each other.
    • Edwin and Rachel Fisher are my maternal gr-grandparents. Bleur (Blick) Fisher was my gr-uncle, whom I knew as a child. I am doing some research on these families and hope that this cemetery data will be of some help to you.
